In Memory of Marion Wong

Gifts in memory of Marion will be added to the Ho'ohana Endowment Fund and support undergraduate students participating in the Cardinal Quarter service program of the Haas Center for Public Service, or its successor program, with a preference for students serving underserved communities of color, giving priority to those serving the Asian/Asian American and/or Native Hawaiian Communities.

Cardinal Service helps Stanford students engage in principled public service, connect with communities, and deepen their learning through real-world experiences. Through the Cardinal Quarter program, students can choose from 500+ full-time summer or quarter-long public service job opportunities. Cardinal Quarter programs are offered by nearly 30 campus partners and span fields from the arts to technology, philanthropy to international service. Fellowship stipends are provided to cover living and transportation expenses to ensure access for all undergraduates.

A portion of the endowment payout (up to twenty-five percent) from the Fund may be used to support the costs of administering the program including marketing, preparation, reflection, and evaluation. If, in the judgment of the Board, changed circumstances should at some future time render the designated use of the Fund no longer appropriate, then the Board shall use distributions from the Fund to further the objects and purposes of Stanford University, giving consideration to our special interest as evidenced by the purpose described above.
