Brauman Visiting Scholar Fund

The John I. Brauman Visiting Scholar Fund will provide financial support for visiting scholars chosen by the Department of Chemistry, or its successor unit, including the scholar’s salary and related expenses to ensure continuity in their academic research pursuits during their time spent at Stanford.

John Brauman’s outstanding reputation as a distinguished scientist, mentor, and catalyst for collaboration earned him numerous awards, including the National Medal of Science in 2002. He is recognized by his peers as a warm and wise educator who attracted many others to the department over the course of his 50-plus years at Stanford. Celebrating a life in chemistry, the Fund honors John’s collaborative spirit while advancing a key departmental priority of introducing new research perspectives by convening top chemical talent.
